Buy the Mornington Skirt sewing pattern from In the Folds. The Mornington Skirt is a fresh take on the lantern silhouette: architectural yet wearable, with an intriguing play of panel lines and volume.
This asymmetrical design is constructed from a series of thoughtfully shaped panels. From waist to hip, the fit is clean and gently contoured thanks to the panel seams. The lower section builds out into a fuller shape that drapes beautifully around the body. A shaped waistband hugs the waist comfortably, while a lapped side zip with a shield and button closure keeps the finish neat. The centre back split adds ease of movement, and the hem facing completes the skirt.

Consider using linen, linen blends, cotton drill or twill, denim, or wool. For a softer, more fluid look, try midweight silk, tencel twill, or similar fabrics with gentle drape.
