True Bias Calvin Wrap Dress and Top

Buy the Calvin Wrap Dress and Top sewing pattern from True Bias. Calvin is a wrap dress and top with exposed bias binding that extends into long ties to form a bow closure. It has rings and sliders which create adjustable shoulder straps for an easy fit. View A is a short top that hits approximately two inches below the natural waist. View B is a straight dress that hits at mid calf.

Note if purchasing copy shop printing for sizes 14-32: Some of the pattern pieces have been split (to fit on the A0 sheets) and will need to be joined together.

Suggested fabrics: Light to medium weight woven fabrics that press well such as linen, chambray, rayon challis, silk crepe de chine, and cotton.

Fabric requirements: Extra fabric may be needed to match stripes/plaids.

View A: 45" (114 cm) wide fabric (sizes 0-14 only): 0.75 - 1.2 yd (0.7 - 1.1 m) // 54" (137 cm) wide fabric: 0.75 - 1.2 yd (0.7 - 1.1 m).

View B: 45" (114 cm) wide fabric (sizes 0-14 only): 2.5 yd (2.3 m) // 54" (137 cm) wide fabric: 2.2 - 2.5 yd (2 - 2.3 m).

Bias binding: 45" and 54" (114 cm and 137 cm) wide fabric: 1 yd (0.9 m).

Sizes 14 – 32  

View A: 45" (114 cm) wide fabric: 1.6 yd (1.5 m) // 54" (137 cm) wide fabric: 1.2 - 1.6 yd (1.1 - 1.5 m).

View B: 45" (114 cm) wide fabric: 4 yd (3.7 m) // 54" (137 cm) wide fabric: 2.6 - 4 yd (2.4 - 3.7 m).

Bias binding: 45" and 54" (114 cm and 137 cm) wide fabric: 1 - 1.3 yd (0.9 - 1.2 m).

Sizing: US 0 – 18 or US 14 – 32 (approx. UK 6/8 – 18/20 or UK 16 – 34, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size charts and finished garment measurements.

Note: The size ranges have been drafted from different blocks. The 14-32 block has a slightly more curvy set of dimensions than the 0-18 block. The 14-32 block has a D instead of a C cup (meaning a 4" rather than a 3" difference between your full and high bust) and has a 1" larger difference between the waist and hip circumference. Both size ranges are drafted for an average height of 5'5".
